Psychedelic Porn Crumpet’ new track “My Friend’s A Liquid” is experimental.

Firstly – what a name and secondly what a song. Psychedelic Porn Crumpets began as a solo uni course project by singer, Jack McEwan, who met his fellow band mates through a drug dealer and as a “tradie” on building sites.

Hailing from Perth, music flowing from all night jam sessions, the band has released a new track “My Friend’s a Liquid”. They have already have had some great air play including BBC Radio 1 and Radio X and I can’t see why this won’t continue.

This track holds strong influential values of Temples and Tame Impala and similar sounding vocals to Black Kids and Late of the Pier… they aren’t called Psychedelic Porn Crumpets for nothing; their sound definitely has that trippy, shoegazing style to it.

It has a 90’s feel with great guitar riffs, the band layer samples through out the track of different noises and talking adding extra depth to the song, it’s dreamy.

“My Friend’s a liquid” gives me flashbacks to summer, I want to go and hang out by the beach, drink in hand whilst hanging out with my friends, which is perfect when its practically Baltic outside right now.

Fancy checking them out for yourself? Lucky for us, the boys are taking a trip to England.
