Youth Killed It – What’s So Great, Britain?

Youth Killed It are a 5 piece who began in 2012, who’s Twitter bio describes them as; “Indie-punk dad dancing champions of the universe”. Who doesn’t love a bit of dad dancing?

Well, they’ve treated us with a new release “What’s So Great, Britain?” this week, it features social commentary on life in Britain, with political statements about the rich/poor divide and they’ve turned it in to an indie banger. They have a refreshing sound different to other indie offerings these days. It give’s me nostalgia to when I was 16 just discovering indie music, like it could have been on the Skins/Inbetweeners soundtrack and I mean that in a good way obviously. They remind me of Jamie T and The Enemy because of the singer’s distinct voice and the catchy guitar riffs. I can only imagine this song being even better live and amazing to dance to.

Definitely check out this song, its an absolute belter in my opinion and I know I’m not the only one to think this. Youth Killed It managed to get down to the last round of the Pirate Prodigies and just missed out on winning however you can also vote for them to play Y-Not Festival and catch them on the This Feeling Stage at Isle of Wight Festival, which I will be doing and I cant wait!
