Apollo Junction – ‘On The Ropes’

Leeds quintet Apollo Junction unleash their massive new single ‘On The Ropes’, with the amalgamation of multiple genres – the Leeds lads have whipped up something brilliant.

Vocals that have an unlimited amount of swagger behind them and the known all too well synth, set strong foundations for the tune. Managing to digitally mesh alternative rock and new wave sounds together makes for a massively anthemic chorus – it’s totally as catchy as can be. Synths and classic rock riffs bleed into each other, accompanied by rock-solid drums to breathe through the sound of core influences of Apollo Junction.

Honestly, it is a massive relief to not hear another pandemic song, the five-piece sticking to their guns and pushing material out with the sound they know and love, pulling sounds from all sorts of places is great. Again you can hear; even if it’s just lightly, ghosts of their influences in this banger. Kaiser Chiefs to New Order – ‘On The Ropes’ is the love child of iconic sounds.
