Just ahead of a string of sold-out tour dates scheduled towards the end of the year, increasingly popular London-based group Bears In Trees have offered their fanbase a beautifully soft stripped track with an incredibly powerful and important message.
‘It Gets Better’ is a more laid back approach to their pretty unique and endlessly entertaining “uke-punk” genre and is basically a much-needed hug in the form of a song. As far as comfort songs go, ‘It Gets Better’ is an absolute dream.
A light, breezy chord progression throughout the track creates a somewhat light-hearted atmosphere and offers listeners a short but sweet escape from reality. The small vocal ad-libs are hidden between the vocal harmonies add some fun while bringing the separate layers of the track together perfectly. As the lead single from their eagerly anticipated EP, due to be released before the end of the year, and as part of the build-up to the group’s (mostly) sold-out headline tour, ‘It Gets Better’ is the perfect release to mark this point in the lads’ careers.
Having already built an impressive following across a number of social platforms (25.7 thousand followers on TikTok alone), the group’s fanbase will inevitably continue to grow in the coming months and years as the group come to release even more gorgeously written tracks. With a comfortably refreshing sound, beautiful harmonies woven throughout their music in addition to a fun-loving online presence and incredibly welcoming online community, Bears In Trees are exactly the breath of fresh air the UK music scene needed.
