Texas band Hovvdy turn their emotions and grief into a magical new track ‘I’m Sorry’
Texan duo Hovvdy (made up of Charlie Martin and Will Taylor) have recently dropped their gentle and personal brand-new single ‘I’m Sorry’, their second release of the year, following on from ‘Runner’ which was released back in July. Both tracks have been co-produced by Andrew Sarlo, who has worked with the likes of Bon Iver and Action Bronson.
Band member Will Taylor clarifies that the track is about “the mixed emotions when a relationship has to change or end. Grief and relief” further adding how the band “were excited to pull the guitars back to let the vocals and ambient textures shine. The clank and swing of the programmed drums create a resonance and energy that brings it all together.” It’s safe to say this technique helped to create something so smooth, yet so distinct.
With a steady release of tracks being released by Hovvdy as of recently, can we expect a follow-up album from their 2019 release ‘Heavy Lifter’ anytime soon?
