Lu Wright is back with her jazz-inspired single ‘What I Like’ taken from her upcoming EP
Coming just a month after the release of rising singer-songwriter Lu Wright’s debut release of ‘British Daisy’ she is back with the beautifully soulful single, ‘What I Like’ the second track taken from her upcoming EP, produced by West London based producer Jacob Page.
The irresistibly warm tones of Lu’s jazz-like sound forms an inspiring fusion of soul and R&B classics. Lu says “’What I Like’ is about breaking free from an unhappy relationship. It takes you through the daunting yet exciting prospect of starting again and building a better stronger and more genuine you.” You really feel that strength and power to break out of something through the snap of a snare drum breaking up the alluring spacey keys. Whilst her lyrical talent that creates a beautifully luminescent sound, revealing the power of change and representing the excitement of becoming a better you and escaping the sense of co-dependency.
The much-anticipated EP ‘Notes To Self’ will take you along an adventure of self-love and discovery. Lu’s alluring sound has been compared to many of her inspirations such as; Amy Winehouse and more recently the likes of Little Simz and Anderson Paak.
