Manchester’s most promising new bedroom pop artist, Lucy Deakin, makes pop music seem easy through her latest new single ‘Be Alright’.
Taken from her upcoming ‘I Got Bored’ EP Lucy serves up a dark pop track that continues to document the peaks and bumps of a new romance; through synthetic rhythms and electronic beats, that will have you listening to on repeat.
Born in the thick of the youth, Lucy Deakin and producer Karl Ziegler have taken some of their biggest influences from future-pop flavour Charli XCX to anthemic Dua Lipa, to create quintessential pop; that breaks the mould of classic pop. Following on from ‘bad in love’ and ‘we could be’, Lucy’s latest track ‘be alright’ expands the artist capability of becoming a pop wonder as she shows her world that is inspired by young love and growing up with the internet.
Despite being made solely in a bedroom, Lucy has gained substantial support from Spotify and tipped by critics as one to watch of 2020 for her love of DIY sounds, eccentric beats and flavoured production.
