Hyper-pop producer Maddy Storm’s latest offering ‘Sleep Deprived’ leaves you anything but.
Maddy’s previous work has melded industrial music with pop to create something akin to Dorian Electra or Charli XCX’s Vroom Vroom EP.
The track opens with a mix of electronic ambience and silky, high-pitched vocals, then sliding into a more traditional pop verse backed by bouncy drums and synths, in which Maddy lists adjectives to describe her behaviour and state of mind. The chorus is infectious; futuristic in its production, with Storm’s partnership with the instrumental being a match made in heaven.
Maddy Storm is a fantastic listen for fans of glossy, over-the-top pop, with this offering sounding like it came straight from the future. Has Maddy come from the next century to reveal how music will sound like then? Find out by having a listen…
