For anyone who has ever been belittled or mansplained, Molly Burman’s new single ‘Fool Me With Flattery’ is for you…
With International Women’s Day just this week, nineteen-year-old bedroom-pop princess Molly Burman has released her brand new single ‘Fool Me With Flattery’. Taking matters into her own hands she put pen to paper and her thoughts and anger came out and blossomed into a happy-go-lucky track that is freckled with summery beats and calming melodies. Ironic right?
Singing about the themes of misogyny and mansplaining, she turns her world into a women-only zone. The feeling of being belittled by men in her life is perpetuated and she has something to say about it. She’s made her mark and resonates with women in all corners of the world, it’s almost as if she’s a net of support and she understands.
Molly says about the themes behind the single: “I wrote the song after a long day of feeling overlooked and ignored by some of the guys in my life. I was fed up, angry and used the stereotype of a mansplaining misogynist to let it all out. This song is for anyone who feels belittled and like they’re being made to shrink themselves; be as big as you possibly can, and don’t let anyone fool you with flattery.”
