Jangly quartet SPINN are back with their first release of the year ‘Billie’, which sees them collaborate with Christie Simpson of Yumi Zouma.
Liverpool-based indie quartet SPINN has returned with the first single from their upcoming EP set to arrive later on this Spring. Their first release of the year ‘Billie’ sees them collaborate with Christie Simpson of Yumi Zouma, an accidental, but beautiful pairing of artists.
‘Billie’ clings on to the singalong indie-pop style that we all know and love from their previous releases. With infectious rhythms and lyrics made to be recited out loud at a gig to come soon! Despite the clear indie-pop flair being undeniably present ‘Billie’ shows a sense of growth and sophistication for the band, tackling the pressure of modern-day relationships through the catchy lyrics from beginning to end. Frontman Johnny Quinn repeats ‘can’t you see how hard I’m trying’ reflecting on the idea that our lives don’t always go in the direction intended despite the desperation to do so.
‘Billie’ is a true indie-pop bop, setting a bar for further exciting things to come from SPINN, with new releases promised to come over the next few months. 2021 is definitely going to be an exciting year for SPINN as they undoubtedly continue to grow and thrive.
