Regent return with their new single ‘Today’ and their autumnal, exclusive music video.
Sitting down and stripping back from their rock ‘n’ roll facade, Regent offer up their most recent single ‘Today’.
A song that is written about love and loss is encapsulated perfectly within this mellow, emotional tune. Dripping with slick guitar licks and caramel-soft vocals – it’s faultless. A startling distorted chorus is prominent with a gut-busting bridge that is the cherry on top.
The music video for ‘Today’ is simplistic and stylish with frontman Ben Rooke showing passion as he sings: ‘I don’t know if I’ll love again…” – it shows the whole band gracefully playing their instruments. It’s humbling and not too-in-your-face.
Speaking on ‘Today’ Ben says: “I wanted to sit and write a song about heartache and the pain of losing someone. Whether it be a lover, mother, father, sister or a brother…. We all go through low times in our life, and in the middle of a pandemic, I wanted to create an anthemic track that everyone in pain can relate to…”
